Hello, Mustangs! 

I am Inés Valencia, your school librarian. I am originally from Cali, Colombia, South America, but have been living in the U.S. since 1996. 

My background is in Industrial Engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana-Cali. I obtained the bilingual teaching certification in 2007 which opened the opportunity to teach Bilingual Kindergarten and 2^nd grade Dual Language in LISD for 15 years. I received my master’s in library science at the University of North Texas in 2022. 

I am thrilled to be a part of the greatness at Mill Street Elementary School. I believe that the library is the heart of the school. Being a librarian and sharing my passion for literacy and learning is what drives me!
